A SUV fresh from the training camp

Lorinser tunes the face-lifted Mercedes M-Class
In fitting with its recent face-lift, Sportservice Lorinser provides the latest refreshed M-Class with a special sporty kick in the form of a newly designed aerodynamic package. The traditional vehicle tuner from Winnenden has specifically worked on the sporty character traits of the powerful SUV. Here the designers used a special trick: due to the components which have been moved much lower and thoroughly varnished, they brought the four-wheeler much closer to the tarmac. In particular the new Lorinser four-fin grill, which only ends on the lower edge of the fog lights, lets the whole vehicle sit so close to the tarmac that you can “feel” it. The strongly contoured front spoiler with the sports grill insert just above the underride protection strengthens the image of the steeled Autobahn attacker. At the same time round lines and
curves break up the geometric front and provide an elegant note.

The Lorinser side sills underline laterally the muscular side of the M-Class: they extend the bodywork optically downwards – in particular with black colour the SUV seems to melt into the road. The contact with the road surface is actually provided by diverse Lorinser light-alloy wheels, as chosen by the customer, with which the owner can give his/her M-Class a special
individual note. Many designs are available, both in black and silver, so that the vehicle can reveal a completely different character, depending on the customer’s wishes.

But not just the attack and midfield of Lorinser M-Class is first-class. At the back Lorinser has brought in a massive and plastic-formed rear spoiler. With a sports grill and the underride protection moved much lower, it promises a dominant playing strategy with the strong series- standard petrol and diesel engines of the M-Class: one step on the accelerator and the four massive Lorinser exhaust pipes provide the starting whistle.

IAA star already modified

Lorinser presents two exciting SLS studies

The legendary 300 SL Gullwing has thrilled generations and consequently has a regular space in Lorinser’s classic car collection. The designers of the Mercedes customer have now dedicated themselves to its successor, the SLS, which proved to be a show stopper at the IAA 2009 in just its series standard version.
Lorinser_Mercedes_SLS
The first Lorinser design of the exhibition star pays homage to the racing soul of the car, as the Gullwing was originally designed for motorsport with its numerous aluminium components. “If carbon fibres had been available then, the lightweight concept of the 300 SL would definitely have contained this material”, says CEO Marcus Lorinser.
Lorinser_Mercedes_SLS-01
As a result one of the designs shows the aggressive coolness of carbon fibre, which in selected areas contrasts with the red paint of the aluminium bodywork and the components: for example a carbon fibre element intersects the middle of the grill, in which there isn’t a Mercedes star, but the Lorinser family crest from the 15th century instead. A further stylistic element is provided by a spoiler bumper with a carbon insert, arch-shaped air inlet and double fog lights. The muscular sides, on the other hand, are partially shaped by the massive Lorinser side sills, which also adorn black inserts made of the fibre composite material. The air inlets which are drawn inwards and have black sports grills, gape over the sides onto the front fenders. The two chromed cross beams are thereby a homage to the 300 SL. The large wire spoke wheels cite a typical construction form from the 50s, although their design seems extremely modern. At the same time they are also the link to the second design.

The second design pays tribute to the facets of the 300 SL, which reveal it as a sophisticated road sports car with an elegant front spoiler and a more sober grill design. In this study Lorinser also used one-piece side sills with air inlets. With their stronger segmentation the gills on the fenders are orientated more directly to the prototype, than the first design which was dedicated to the motorsport heritage oft the Gullwing.

Whether there will be a small-batch production of either of the two studies – and where applicable the final design – has not yet been decided.

Individual fine-tuning for the high-carat fiery opal

The GLK 280 V6 from the Lorinser collection

Sportservice Lorinser consciously chose the fiery opal colour for the paintwork of its latest GLK with the 280 V6 petrol engine. With its pervasive radiance the eponymous gem is one of the most coveted and exclusive opals in the world – and it is the only one with which you can uncover the full shine with a facet cut. As a result the traditional tuner from Winnenden has worked on all the corners and edges, in order to create an exclusive piece of work with incomparable brilliance out of the SUV. As a special optical highlight, the Lorinser front spoiler reflects the radiator grille of the GLK on the horizontal axis and thereby provides an expressive front design. The dark recessed insert is flanked on the left and right by the fog lights.

While precious stones loose volume through polishing, the GLK actually gains substance due to the work of Lorinser. The ribbed side sills in particular provide the 170kW / 231 HP strong SUV with more volume, and thanks to the Lorinser lowering set it hugs the tarmac in a bold sporty manner. The rear view of the four-wheeler is presented as a perfect piece of jewellery and appears to be made of incomparable fire. The Lorinser rear apron with the pronounced indentations definitely flirts with a degree of martiality – an impression which the dark insert with the sports grille and implied underride guard further intensify. On its flanks it sports a pair of sonorous double-pipes of the Lorinser stainless steel exhaust unit. In connection with the smooth six-cylinder engine under the bonnet the compact SUV thereby also proves to be an acoustic jewel. Real high-carats are, of course, not missing in the wheel arches: with their special varnish – matt black combined with a polished rim flange – the huge 9 x 22 inch Lorinser RS 9 light-alloy wheels provide real highlights. They are enclosed by the 265 millimetre wide Yokohama tyres. The contrast with the red outer colour of the vehicle is increased by the dark recessed wheel arches. With it the designers have succeeded in creating a real piece of jewellery, which constantly attracts attention to its owner.

Torque rocket from the wild 70s

Lorinser celebrates the reunion with a tuned 450 SEL 6.9 W116

By 1975 the USA had long mothballed its moon vehicles, as with the Mercedes 450 SEL 6.9, W116 series the Germans unveiled a road rocket, whose thrust felt like it could easily rival a Saturn V. The constructors borrowed the engine from the basis of the powerful State limousine 600, which was equal to a Rolls-Royce in fame and luxury. Continue reading →

Lorinser is sending the LV8 to the Tuner Grand Prix with 500HP

Lorinser_LV8_vs_kl

At the Tuner Grand Prix on the Hockenheimring (26th/27th June) Sportservice Lorinser will be presenting a C-Class from another universe: 500HP (368kW) and 630Nm catapult the black limousine from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 4.3 seconds and help it reach a top speed of 320. With a delicate touch of the accelerator the Continental tyres, with the ideal dimensions of 255/35-18, start to cling with all vehemence to the tarmac, so that they don’t shed an ounce of traction. The Swabian samurai

Sportservice Lorinser tunes the Lexus flagship LS460

Eating “Sp?tzle” or “Maultaschen” with chopsticks? Unthinkable! The Swabian art of tuning, on the other hand, suits Japanese car building perfectly, as the latest design from Sportservice Lorinser proves. For the first time the designers, who normally make extravagant tailor-made clothing for Mercedes vehicles, ventured to work on an Asian. The Lexus LS460 is a dynamic vehicle – after all, this five-metre flagship has a floor area equivalent to six Tatami mats and thereby as much as an average Japanese room. Thanks to a refined aerodynamic package from Sportservice Lorinser, the elegant bodywork exudes confidence. The front apron with the spoiler gives the countenance elegant corners and edges and together with the round fog lights makes it a face in the crowd. On the sides the LS460 shows its muscles thanks to the Lorinser side sills: with dynamic verve they go directly back into the door joint.

Lorinser GLK made it onto the podium for the YOKOHAMA 4×4 Award

Who’d have thought that 4-wheel drive vehicles would one day so masterfully represent dynamism, elegance and lifestyle? The Lorinser LV8 for the Tuner Grand Prix

lorinser_high_1709_kl
100% ready for the Hockenheimring – 100% licensed for the road

When the Tuner Grand Prix changes the Hockenheimring into a cauldron of smoking tyres on the 26th and 27th June, the premium tuners will again be bringing their fascinating cars to the field. Souped-up racing technology provides a special thrill, although it hampers everyday use. So are they just “big toys for big boys”? Not everyone wants to just “play”, as the Lorinser LV8, which is based on the new C-Class, proves impressively. “It corresponds 100 percent to the licensing requirements for a road car and that is precisely what makes it so fascinating”, explains General Manager Marcus Lorinser, who remained tight-lipped about the HP of his latest model, although has already revealed that the car will enter the C3 class (limousines, suction cars).

The Lorinser Classic Center for vintage cars

lorinser_classic_center_2_kl

Tradition – at Autohaus Lorinser this isn’t just something that is talked about, but something that is actively lived. Accordingly, this understanding does not just mean that there are a few ageing photos on the walls, but is evident in a separate showroom for historical vehicles: The Lorinser Classic Center, which is located inside the architecturally-imposing company building in Waiblingen, does not see itself as a museum. The vintage cars on show here can be purchased or rented, and thereby represent a piece of history, which “moves” in the true sense of the word. And anyone wanting to get his/her ailing classic back on the road, has also come to the right place.

Massive sportiness for classy Limousines, Cabrios and Coupes

lorinser_1677_kl
The new Lorinser RSK 6 wheel design is rolling into shops now

As if majestic aluminium wheels only look good on huge off-roaders: thanks to the shifting of the optical focus to the substructure, elegant Limousines, breezy Cabrios and racy Coupes in particular gain dynamism and presence. Sportservice Lorinser shows that it has the right design sense with the now newly available three-piece RSK 6 alloy. The focus is on the five prominent, rectangular spokes, which take up virtually the whole front of the wheel and link up with the edge of the alloy almost at eye-level. The gaps are backed on the edges of the struts by surfaces which sit deeper and increase the solidity of the RSK 6 in conjunction with the deep-set decorative screws and the wide cut middle funnel.
