FORD’S SAARLOUIS PLANT IN GERMANY BUILDS ITS 12 MILLIONTH VEHICLE
SAARLOUIS, August 26, 2010 – Today, Ford’s Saarlouis Plant in south-west Germany celebrated building its 12 millionth vehicle – a white Ford Focus five-door model which will be delivered to a Saarlouis employee – in just 40 years.
Opened by Henry Ford II on June 11, 1970, the Saarlouis Plant has built some of the most iconic vehicles in Ford of Europe’s history. These have included the legendary Ford Capri (produced at the plant from 1971 and 1975); the Ford Fiesta (1976 to 1980); and the Ford Orion (1983 to 1993); the Ford C-MAX (since 2003); and the Ford Kuga (from 2008).

The Fiesta is the eighth Ford Motor Company vehicle to earn the Institute’s top designation – breaking a tie with Toyota for the most “Top Safety Picks” of any automaker.

FORD MOTOR COMPANY COMPLETES SALE OF VOLVO TO GEELY
DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 2, 2010 – Ford Motor Company [NYSE: F] today announced it has completed the sale of Volvo Car Corporation and related assets to the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Company Limited.
The total purchase price for Volvo and related assets set forth in the agreement signed in March 2010 was $1.8 billion, including a $200 million note and the balance in cash, with the cash portion subject to customary purchase price adjustments at closing. Pursuant to the terms of the agreement, Geely today issued the note and paid $1.3 billion in cash to complete the sale. The estimated purchase price adjustments used at closing are expected to be finalized and settled following final true-up of the purchase price adjustments later this year. The final true-up is expected to result in additional proceeds to Ford.

FORD ON SCHEDULE WITH DEVELOPMENT OF 2011 FIESTA RS WRC AFTER 2000KM TEST PROGRAMME
COLOGNE, 7 July 2010 – The Ford Fiesta RS World Rally Car, the company’s all-new challenger for the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship, successfully completed more than 2000km of testing in the last two weeks.
The car was fitted for the first time with a prototype 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, based on the new Ford EcoBoost road vehicle power plant. The agreement of the engine specification in March was the final major technical decision to be confirmed by the FIA, motorsport’s governing body, in advance of the introduction of the WRC’s new formula in 2011.
