Aston Martin V12 Vantage Confirmed for North America

Gaydon, 4 May 2010 – In response to unprecedented customer demand, Aston Martin has confirmed that the V12 Vantage – the most potent production sports car in the marque’s 96-year history – will be made available in North America from later this year.
Based on the hugely successful V8 Vantage, the V12 Vantage features a 6.0 litre V12 engine producing 510 bhp (380 kW / 517 PS), and 420 lb ft (570 Nm) of torque with a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h) and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 4.2 seconds.

Aston Martin Opens First Dealership in Poland
Aston Martin has enjoyed a warm reception in Warsaw at a gala event held this Wednesday in celebration of the official opening of the first-ever Aston Martin dealership in Poland, together with AML Polska, who will represent the English marque exclusively under its new label as Aston Martin Warszawa.
Dr. Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin Chief Executive, said “We have been inundated by Polish customers who have expressed a strong desire for our cars, finally we have the right partner and the right facility in place to serve them directly. The luxury car market in Poland is expanding, both in sales to individuals and businesses. With increasing foreign investment and economic growth, both this city and our new partners have a lot to offer, we are keen to have them on board. Warsaw will be fundamental to our growth further through Eastern Europe, an important goal in our network development strategy.”

One-77 Bestowed with Prestigious Design Award
Gaydon, 11 January 2009: Aston Martin’s definitive sports car, the One-77 has been bestowed with a coveted 2009 GOOD DESIGNTM award by The Chicago Athenauem: Museum of Architecture and Design in North America.
A record number of submissions were received by The Chicago Athenaeum ranging from a Mars Landing Rover designed for a 2030 NASA Mars Space Mission, to a simple water purification system for rural South African villages.
An international jury of design professionals awarded the One-77 the accolade for new and innovative product concept, invention and originality, and for stretching the envelope beyond what is considered ordinary product and consumer design.
The One-77 epitomises everything Aston Martin; modern technology fused with traditional hand-craftsmanship and painstaking attention to detail. As a culmination of all the marque’s know-how, the One-77 delivers effortless beauty guaranteed to stir the senses with performance potential eclipsing any previous Aston Martin.
As name suggests, production is limited up to a maximum of 77 individually numbered examples, with deliveries expected to commence in mid-2010.

Aston Martin Teams to Compete in new FIA GT World Championship
Aston Martin will be represented by two teams in the new FIA GT1 World Championship in 2010.
Teams Hexis AMR and Young Driver AMR have applied for entry and each plan to run two Aston Martin DBR9s in the championship. Entries are subject to approval by the FIA and the confirmed entry list will be issued in January.
Hexis AMR, an existing Aston Martin Racing partner team, based at the Nimes circuit in France has successfully campaigned Aston Martin DBRS9s for the past three years, winning the FIA GT3 European Teams Championship in 2009. In addition to its existing GT3 activity, the French team is adding two GT1 DBR9s to its stable of Aston Martin race cars in preparation for the World Championship.
Young Driver AMR is a new team, formed specifically to compete in the FIA GT World Championship with Aston Martins. The team has taken delivery of its two DBR9s and is currently setting up its new race facility.
With 10 events on four continents, organisers hope that the new championship will capture the hearts and attention of motorsport fans around the globe.

Based on the road-going DB9, the V12 engined Aston Martin DBR9 has enjoyed great success since winning its inaugural race at Sebring in 2005. Multiple race wins around the world followed and the DBR9 went on to win its class at Le Mans in 2007 and 2008 in the hands of Aston Martin Racing.
The announcement of the new World Championship will see a change to the existing structure with GT1, GT2, and GT3 classes split into three distinct championships.
The FIA GT1 World Championship is for independent teams and professional drivers, the FIA GT2 European Championship is for independent teams and pro-am driver crews, and the FIA GT3 European Championship is for independent teams and non-professional drivers.
Further information about the Aston Martin teams and their driver line-ups will be announced in January following confirmation of the full entry list.

One-77 closes on new Aston Martin record
Gaydon, Tuesday 22 December. Aston Martin’s One-77 supercar has moved closer to setting a new all-time record for the British marque in initial high speed testing after surpassing all predictions and comfortably breaking the 200mph mark.
The One-77 is currently undergoing a stringent development process ahead of planned launch in 2010 with high speed testing taking place at a top secret proving ground in southern Europe. In a series of test runs completed last week the One-77 exceeded original expectations and recorded a 220.007mph (354.86kmh) top speed in dry but windy conditions under the guidance of the Aston Martin engineering team. Dynamic testing is now scheduled to continue into the New Year.

Powered by a new Aston Martin 7.3 litre V12 engine, the One-77 is engineered to deliver breathtaking levels of power and performance. The dramatically styled two-door, two-seat sports coupe is based on an innovative new carbon fibre monocoque body structure and adopts new active aerodynamic technology.
The One-77 is the ultimate expression of what Aston Martin stands for and will combine modern technology and design with craftsmanship and ultimate exclusivity to create the world’s most desirable automotive art form.

Aston Martin Wins Manufacturer of the Year Award
Gaydon, Warwickshire 21st December 2009: Aston Martin has been crowned Manufacturer of the Year 2009 by leading automotive magazine CAR Middle East.
The prestigious award ceremony held at The Address Downtown Burj Dubai, was attended by the most influential of the region’s motoring industry. A total of 15 awards were shared out among the elite of the automotive world. Director of Design, Marek Reichman accepted the award on behalf of Aston Martin.
The ceremony was held to coincide with the Middle East International Motor Show, where Aston Martin showcased an impressive line-up, consisting of the One-77 supercar, Rapide four-door sports car, DBS Volante and V12 Vantage.
Tom Bird, Editor of CAR magazine Middle East, rationalises the marque’s achievement as it completes one of the busiest years in its history: “It has been a busy year for the British sports car maker. It returned to 24-hour endurance racing in Le Mans, revived the Lagonda nameplate with an interesting concept car in Geneva, showed off a city car and its ramping itself up for the launch of the four-door Rapide. Aston Martin is showing itself to be one of the most forward thinking and fast acting car companies around. For all of these reasons, Aston Martin is our Manufacturer of the Year for 2009”.
Aston Martin has experienced very strong growth in the Middle East in recent years. Ten years ago only 15 cars were sold in the region per annum; this figure has now increased exponentially with sales reaching 150 in 2009.

Gaydon, Warwickshire. 18 December 2009. Aston Martin’s two top-of-the-range sports cars; the DBS and V12 Vantage have undergone a unique Carbon Black makeover to create a highly desirable special edition.
Celebrating the enormous success of the DBS and V12 Vantage which have surpassed all sales expectations since launch, the new special editions add a typically understated flair to these acclaimed models. Featuring bespoke Carbon Black metallic paint especially formulated with a subtle metallic twist to create a deep rich patina. Each car will undergo 50 man-hours of hand painting followed by stringent quality checks. For the V12 Vantage the iconic Aston Martin side strake has been fashioned from real carbon fibre backed by a black mesh and complimented with gloss black 10 spoke diamond turned alloy wheels. A bright finished grille and front parking sensors (normally an option) complete the exterior detailing.


Inside, owners will be greeted to swathes of Obsidian Black leather highlighted with a contrast silver coarse stitch all hand stitched by the craftspeople at Gaydon – Aston Martin’s global headquarters in England.
Lightweight seats formed from Carbon Fibre and Kevlar saving 17 kg over the standard seat also feature together with Piano black facia trim, centre stack and centre console, anodised black tread plates and unique sill plaques build on the carbon theme. The Aston Martin 700w Premium Audio System is delivered as standard in the V12 Vantage while the DBS boasts the Bang & Olufsen Beosound DBS audio system as standard.
