Nissan Announce Highest Qashqai Monthly Sales in Europe for 2 Years
ROLLE, Switzerland (April 8, 2010) – Nissan in Europe has reported sales of 53,142 units in March, representing an increase of 27% year on year with a Market Share of 2.7%. TIV was up 8% versus March 2009. The four main markets of Spain, France, UK and Italy are still benefiting from the scrap incentive schemes which are now ending in UK and Italy. The German TIV was 26% lower than the previous year as the scrap incentive has already come to an end.
Bernard Loire, Vice President Sales Operations for Nissan in Europe commented:
“Our market share of 2.7% was in line with forecasts and ahead of last year in a month where the scrap incentives have ended in UK and Italy. In our fiscal year our market share was 2.8% well ahead of planned levels. Order banks continue to be strong particularly on Qashqai across all markets.”
