Buick New Regal Receives Maximum 5-Star Safety Rating in China

Shanghai – The Buick New Regal sedan from Shanghai GM has received a maximum five-star safety rating from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC), which recently released its China New Car Assessment Program ratings.
A U.S. version of the Regal will be in Buick showrooms in May.

AUDI AG is looking to invest in renewable sources of energy. In support of this goal, Audi this week signed an agreement with the international consortium “Desertec Industrial Initiative”. The long-term goal of the joint venture is the climate-friendly production of energy in the deserts of North Africa and the Middle East. As an associated partner, Audi will initially work to create the right conditions and to establish the necessary infrastructure.

BMW outlines future motorsport programme

Munich, 29th April 2010. Motorsport will continue to play a leading role at BMW, with plans now being implemented for an extensive programme. BMW will significantly expand its activities in the field of production car racing over the coming years: last week the executive board of BMW AG came to a positive policy decision regarding the company’s involvement in the restructured German Touring Car Masters (DTM) from 2012. For this to happen, certain basic requirements must be met. The governing body, the ITR, is currently working on these prerequisites. In anticipation of a positive outcome, BMW Motorsport is making appropriate preparations on the technical side. The final decision is expected during the year.

HYUNDAI RISES IN FORBES LIST OF THE WORLD’S LEADING COMPANIES

Hyundai Motor Company climbed eight spots to become the 188th leading company in the world, and third among automakers, according to an annual list of the top 2000 leading global companies published by Forbes magazine. Hyundai has gained ground in the past two rankings, rising from 245 in 2008 and 196 in 2009. Ford Motor Company (58) and Honda Motor (86) are the only automakers ahead of Hyundai in the 2010 rankings.
